Since December 1959, as the submariner qualification pin number 1 was bestowed to Yosale Dror, few hundreds of young men graduated the submarine school and were honored with the same badge. More than 40 years have passed since the first Israeli submarine arrived at Haifa. A fourth generation of submarines is attached to the pier. Young submariners operates the new, modern and highly sophisticated submarines. Some of them are sons of "S" and "T" class submariners. Behind the machine there is always the man. Either in hot and noisy engine room of the "S" sub, or in front of a monitor in the air conditioned surroundings of a Dolphin sub. No submarine is better than the men who crew it. Here are the faces of some of the men who man the Israeli submarines.

מאז הוענק אות הצוללן מספר 1 ליוסלה דרור, עברו מאות צעירים את בית ספר צוללן שבסיומו הוענק להם אות הצוללן המיוחל. יותר מארבעים שנה חלפו מאז הגעתה של אח"י תנין לחיפה. דור רביעי של צוללות קשור לרציף הצוללות בנמל חיפה. דור רביעי של צוללנים מפעיל צוללות חדישות ומשוכללות אלה, בינהם בנים לצוללני האס והטי. בסופו של דבר, מאחורי המכונה עומד תמיד האדם. אם הוא מזיע בחום של 40 מעלות בתוך חדר המכונות הרועש והלוהט של צוללת אס, חודר למימי האויב בצוללת טי, נלחם במחבלים בצוללת גל או מפעיל מערכות מתוחכמות בצוללת דולפין.
אין צוללת הטובה יותר מהאנשים שבה, ואין אנשים הטובים יותר מאנשי הצוללת. דף זה יביא את תמונותיהם של מקצת מהאנשים, יורדי הים והמעמקים, שעשו ועושים את שייטת הצוללות.
